The Epson Corporation has been regarded as a leader in imaging technology and precision machinery. Founded in 1942 as Daiwa Kogyo Ltd., Epson began making watches and precision instruments under the Seiko name. While the conventional pigment-based inkjet cartridges are foam based, allowing pigment particles to sink, Epson inkjet cartridges utilize a foamless system, called the "Epson Smart Valve Control" system. With this new type of inkjet cartridge, the ink does not get soaked up by a sponge but stays in free-flowing liquid form. This allows for high speed printing without the worry of pigment settling. All Epson inkjet cartridges now use this system in combination with their DURABrite and UltraChrome series of inks to bring you long lasting, bright pictures.
